Would you rather order your prescription medication in person or have it sent to your door? Ordering online has several benefits: you can save money on shipping and save time by skipping a trip to your GP and pharmacy. But how do you go about setting up an account with your pharmacist? First, we will cover how to set up an account with your pharmacist, and then we’ll share how to set up a repeat prescription.
Why order your medicine online?
There are so many benefits to ordering your prescriptions online. You can save time by avoiding a trip to the pharmacy, which can be quite an undertaking for those living in remote areas or those with limited mobility. Ordering your medicine online is also a great way to make sure you never run out of the essentials.
It’s not just prescriptions that can be sent to your home; you could stock up your entire medicine cabinet with essentials to make sure you never run out of plasters, aspirin or antiseptics. Ordering medicine online isn’t complicated, and anyone with a smartphone and internet connection should be able to achieve this.
How to order medicine online
If you receive repeat prescriptions for any medication, you can request these be sent to you directly in the post. This will help you to avoid forgetting or running out of medicine when you need it most.
To set up an online repeat prescription, you need to send your prescription from your doctor to your chosen pharmacy or dispenser. This means you don’t have to visit the doctor’s office every time you need to order a repeat prescription.
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered directly from the pharmacy website or by telephone with your doctor’s approval. When you receive an online request for this type of medication, it will come in secure packaging and at no extra cost.
This is how ordering medicine online works:
-
Your GP (general practitioner) writes your prescription as usual.
-
Your prescription is sent to your chosen pharmacy.
-
The pharmacist checks your prescription, packages everything up and sends it securely in the post.
-
If you receive the same medication periodically, this can be shipped automatically, so you don’t have to lift a finger.
