Vitamin D3 (colecalciferol) is the form the body uses to raise and maintain vitamin D levels. Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium, to normal muscle function, and to the normal function of the immune system. About the Calcium and Vitamin D in Adcal D3
We get most of our vitamin D from sunlight on the skin, with smaller amounts from the diet. People who spend little time outdoors, and older adults, are more likely to have lower vitamin D levels, and the UK Department of Health and Social Care recommends that adults consider a vitamin D supplement during the autumn and winter months.
Calcium is commonly paired with vitamin D because vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption of calcium. Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. Dietary calcium comes from foods such as dairy products, fortified plant-based drinks, leafy green vegetables and fortified flour and cereals.

Ingredients
- Active ingredients: Calcium carbonate (1500mg, equivalent to 600mg elemental calcium) and colecalciferol (400 IU, equivalent to 10μg vitamin D3).
- Other ingredients: Xylitol, modified maize starch, sodium saccharin, magnesium stearate, DL-α-tocopherol, edible fats, gelatin, soya oil, sucrose and corn starch. ‘Tutti-Frutti’ flavour (contains propylene glycol).
