What is Androfeme?
The active substance in Androfeme is testosterone, a hormone produced naturally by the ovaries and adrenal glands in women. Testosterone plays a vital role in sustaining normal sexual, metabolic, and cognitive functions, as well as promoting mood stability, bone and muscle strength, and urinary and reproductive health. Androfeme serves as a treatment option for women experiencing testosterone deficiency. Although it is not licensed for use in the UK,
As women age, particularly post-menopause, testosterone levels decrease. A deficit in testosterone can manifest as sexual dysfunction, including diminished libido, reduced arousal, and difficulty achieving orgasm. Additionally, it can lead to fatigue, cognitive impairments, depressive symptoms, compromised bone health (osteoporosis), muscle atrophy, and an overall decrease in life quality. The testosterone present in Androfeme is identical to that produced by the human body, making it a viable option for addressing such deficiencies when symptomatic.

What is the dose of Androfeme I should use?
Androfeme is available in the form of a white cream that the skin readily absorbs. Adhere to your physician’s directions regarding application, dosage, and site of application. Typically, the initial recommended dose is 0.5 mL of cream (5 mg of testosterone) daily, with a maximum permissible dose of 1.5 mL of cream (15 mg of testosterone) each day. It is advisable to apply the cream at the same time daily.
How to apply Androfeme?
The application of Androfeme cream is performed using an applicator. To achieve the required dosage, open the cream tube and gently squeeze until the cream fills the tube nozzle. Insert the applicator tip into the tube nozzle until they engage, and, while concurrently squeezing the tube base, withdraw the applicator plunger to fill it beyond the intended dosage. Then, push the plunger to the appropriate dosage level to expel excess cream and eliminate any trapped air bubbles. Afterward, detach the applicator from the tube nozzle, secure the tube cap, and cleanse the applicator using hot water.
Androfeme cream should be applied to clean, dry, and healthy skin on the abdomen or upper outer thigh. Massage the cream into the skin until fully absorbed, and subsequently cover the area with clothing. Wash your hands following application. Avoid using perfumes, moisturizers, or deodorants on the treated skin, as these may interfere with Androfeme’s absorption. Additionally, do not apply the cream to broken or compromised skin and refrain from showering or bathing for at least one hour after use. The application site should not come into contact with another person’s skin for one hour post-application to prevent testosterone transference.
If you forget to apply a dose, use it as soon as possible if it is less than 9 hours past your scheduled time; otherwise, proceed with the next scheduled application. Seek immediate medical support if you suspect an overdose.
